Water-The Right Choice

Almost everyone knows that you should drink eight glasses of water a day. But is it really necessary?

Water can be one of the missing links of a succesful weight loss program. Again back to the basics. The soft drinks (including diet), coffee, fruit juices, and other sugar filled drinks play a negative role in controling your hunger pains and blood sugar level.

Water has many health benefits, drinking more water helps to reduce water retention by stimulating your kidneys. Dehydration leads to excess body fat, poor muscle tone & size, decreased digestive efficiency & organ function, increased toxicity, joint & muscle soreness, & water retention. Water works to keep muscles and skin toned.

Water supresses the appetite naturally and helps the body metabolize stored fat. Studies have shown that a decrease in water intake will cause fat deposits to increase, while an increase in water intake can actually reduce fat deposits. This water consumption should be spread out throughout the day. Try to pick three or four times a day when you can have a big glass of water, and then sip in between.

Water makes up more than two thirds of the weight of the human body, and without it, humans would die in a few days. The human brain is made up of 95% water, blood is 82% and lungs 90%. A mere 2% drop in our body’s water supply can trigger signs of dehydration: fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on smaller print, such as a computer screen. Mild dehydration is also one of the most common causes of daytime fatigue.

Drink-up for your weight and health!
